The Bad:
-The game is to short -To many skills appear to fast
It was time something fresh came out in the role-playing world and it came finally under the form of Dark Messiah. The game is created on the Half-Life 2 source engine bringing similar physics possibilities. Because it supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) the graphical effects will bring new details like an easy blurred vision when looking at very bright places like the sun or when your eyes have to get accustomed with light after a long period in darkness you will have a temporary blindness.
The funniest moments in the game while testing the game were when we created accidents. While an orc was guarding a building, right before he stepped to right at a corner, we froze the soil and he slipped in the canyon, the poor thing. You can use almost everything in the world to create an accident or kill directly in this game full of new ideas.
So we started swinging the sword, chopping around bodies while receiving new abilities that we divided among Fighting abilities, Magic Spells and Overall stat boosts. Until here is all good but what we didn’t like was the lack of time necessary to accommodate with the new spells, they came up to fast and too furious. As the new abilities that came too fast weren’t enough, the game ended rather quick too, leaving us wanting for more.
The multiplayer version starts by choosing one single class, Assassin, Priestess, Mage, Archer or Knight and then log on with Valve’s Steam to the server. Now let’s see what opportunities we have, first is the Coliseum and like its name suggests is a Coliseum like arena where 2 fighters test each others strength, while other players(at first was fun to watch fights take place but it quickly became boring) cheer for their favourite warrior.
Ok second in command is Capture the Flag which has the same basic rules like in all games and third is Crusade, another new type of multiplayer in which teams of 16 players engage in battle for supremacy over areas. As they conquer areas they advance further in the enemy territory but they can also lose the conquered areas.
Overall is a game with high quality fun in single player and even more fun in multiplayer, that is highly recommended, have fun.
We give it a 7.8
